Magic in gratitude
MAGIC IN GRATITUDE
I see hearts everywhere — in nature, in the kitchen, in airports, you name it. They always feel magical and remind me of the connection I (and all of us!) have with the unseen world.
On this particular day, I picked up a cookie from a local restaurant in my small town. They make amazing cookies — really big and filled with chocolate chips and caramel. I broke it in half to share with my daughter and set my half aside for later.
Later that day, as I was puttering in the kitchen — cleaning, clearing, and feeling incredibly grateful for my lovely, comfy space — I decided to nibble on my cookie. Savouring the treat and enjoying the flavours, I absent-mindedly picked it up, took a little bite, and set it back down as I continued to tidy and organize.
Suddenly, just as I was about to pick it up again, I noticed the cookie had become the perfect shape of a heart. Completely unplanned.
What began as simple gratitude deepened into a feeling of immense connection and magic — a quiet reminder of the unseen world that exists alongside our everyday lives. The place where our Higher Self, Spirit Guides, and Angels walk with us, offering love, support, and gentle guidance.
The unseen (or spirit) world is constantly sending us little messages — synchronicities, nudges, and love notes. This connection is a gift available to all of us. Sometimes it’s simply a matter of shifting perspective ever so slightly — seeing with curiosity, gratitude, and an open heart, like a radio tuned to a different frequency.
There are so many ways to cultivate this connection, to gently shift our inner world and support our healing. Much of it is instantly accessible and doesn’t have to cost anything.
In these times, it can feel difficult to find gratitude and magic as we witness pain and hardship within our families, communities, and the wider world. That is fair and valid. And yet, it doesn’t have to become the baseline of our every day.
When we cultivate connection and presence, we become the change we wish to see. On the hard days — for ourselves and others — we are then sharing a frequency of healing, compassion, and possibility.
As we strengthen this inner connection, we also create a place to turn on our own hard days: our inner world — a space for self-care, nurturing, and remembrance.
There is so much good happening in the world, alongside the hurt. When we anchor ourselves in love and compassion, we can be of service in meaningful ways.
💜 Pause. Place your hand on your heart. Think of someone or something you love. Breathe deeply. 💜
